    Chand Baori in Abhaneri village, Rajasthan, is one of the deepest and largest stepwells in the world. Built in the 8th to 9th centuries by King Chanda of the Nikumbha dynasty, this architectural marvel features 3,500 narrow steps arranged in perfect geometric symmetry across 13 storeys plunging 100 feet into the earth. Local folklore asserts that the colossal stepwell was built by djinn (spirits) in a single night, and rumors of supernatural shadows and eerie occurrences endure.
