Kangla Fort
Kangla Fort in Imphal, Manipur, is an ancient, sprawling fortified palace complex that served as the traditional seat of the Meitei kings of Manipur from 33 AD until 1891. Deeply revered as the spiritual and political heart of Kangleipak (ancient Manipur), the fort carries a turbulent military history marked by bloody Anglo-Manipur battles, British executions, and decades of military occupation, spawning tales of phantom soldiers, lingering prisoner cries, and divine dragon guardians.
