Originally built as a peaceful British colonial estate and later converted into a hospital and asylum, the site became notorious due to a sinister doctor who claimed to predict patients' exact dates of death—a prophecy allegedly fulfilled by murdering terminally ill or helpless patients inside a secret chamber dubbed 'Mukti Kothri' (Room of Salvation).
