Assin Manso Slave River Park
Assin Manso Ancestral Slave River Park, situated along the Pra River tributary known as Nnonkonsuo ('Slave River'), served as the primary transit market and final bathing stop for enslaved Africans captured in the northern interior before being marched to coastal dungeons at Cape Coast and Elmina. Known as the site of 'The Last Bath', captives were branded, sorted, and force-marched to the coast. Today, the memorial park is a sacred place of pilgrimage and remembrance, deeply renowned for spiritual energy, phantom weeping near the riverbank, and ancestral reverence during Emancipation Day ceremonies.
