    Guaita Tower (La Rocca)

    San MarinoSan Marino11th Century

The Guaita Tower, known locally as La Rocca, is the oldest and most famous of the three medieval fortresses perched atop Mount Titano in San Marino. Constructed in the eleventh century as a refuge and defensive stronghold, the citadel housed military garrisons and served as a state prison until 1970. Behind its formidable stone battlements lie centuries of feudal conflict, harrowing executions, and solitary confinement. Visitors and night guards frequently report hearing echoing footsteps, spectral cries from subterranean cells, and phantom sentinels watching from the highest ramparts over the Apennine valleys.

    Montale Tower (Third Tower)

    San MarinoSan Marino14th Century

Montale Tower, the smallest and most isolated of the three towers of San Marino, sits on the southernmost peak of Mount Titano surrounded by dense pine woods. Constructed in the fourteenth century strictly as a lookout post and solitary prison, Montale features a single narrow entrance located high above ground level and a dark subterranean dungeon known as the 'Il Torricino' accessed only through a hole in the floor. Closed to the public interior access, Montale is considered by locals to be the most sinister of the three towers, where visitors on the surrounding forest trail report hearing muffled screams, scratching from beneath the ground, and feeling an eerie sensation of intense dread.

    Amber Beacon Tower

Amber Beacon Tower is a yellow spiral observation tower situated along the coastal promenade of East Coast Park near Car Park C4. Built during the 1970s land reclamation project, the structure became infamous nationwide following a tragic, brutal unsolved murder on May 15, 1990, when a young couple was attacked by unknown assailants while sitting on the tower staircase, resulting in the death of 21-year-old Kelly Tan Ah Bee. Famed in local urban lore, the tower is renowned for haunting encounters involving a female phantom clad in yellow standing on the spiral stairs, harrowing disembodied weeping echoing across the beach, and sudden temperature drops at night.
